Emprising®️, our culture management platform, empowers leaders with the surveys, real-time reporting and insights they need to make data-driven people decisions. We recognize Great Place to Work-Certified™️ companies and the Best Workplaces™️ in the U.S. and in 69 countries, including the 100 Best Companies to Work For®️ list published annually by Fortune. Our mission is to build a better world by helping organizations become Great Places to Work FOR ALL.
The Trust Model is the Global Standard
Our 30 years of continual research have proven that the definition of a great workplace is one where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with. We put the employee at the heart of our model and use it to power our Trust Index Survey™️ and Culture Management platform Emprising®️.
List Methodology
Employees in participating organizations respond to over 60 survey questions based on the Trust Model describing the extent to which their organization creates a Great Place to Work For All™️. Eighty-five percent of the evaluation is based on what employees report about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. We analyze these experiences relative to each organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical in their industry.
The remaining pieces we consider include an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of the company’s values, people’s ability to contribute new ideas, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure they’re consistently experienced.
The COVID-Methodology for the 2020 List
Other than the survey, we also use our Culture Audit®️ tool, asking organizations to share with us their practices, policies and programs to creating a great workplace For All and evaluating the approach they take. For 2020, in recognition of the great disruption that leadership confronted due to COVID-19, we changed our Culture Audit®️, asking organizations to respond to just one question:
“Tell us about the bold acts of leadership your organization has taken in response to the COVID-19 crisis to create a great workplace For All for your people, in your community or in the world.”
Our local team of culture consultants reviewed and ranked each of the participating organizations’ Culture Audit with a focus on:
1) the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the organization, its business and people,
2) the strength and consistency of leadership actions taken in response
3) the level of care, human-touch and generosity demonstrated in supporting employees and their families, and
4) the breadth of action on their people and communities
To recognise the heroic actions of organizations, this year, the response to the Culture Audit®️ question accounted for 40% of the overall ranking (instead of the usual one-third). This was combined with each organization’s Trust Index©️ Survey results, which accounted for 60% of the overall ranking. Together these resulted in our list of 2020 Best Workplaces.
In 2020, we collected 25,000 pieces of survey data, representing the voices of 62,000 employees in Singapore.
